The development trend of liver disease worldwide is not optimistic
Chronic liver disease has caused high morbidity and mortality worldwide and has become a major global public health issue. The World Health Organization’s 2024 Global Hepatitis Report points out that the number of deaths caused by viral hepatitis is increasing year by year, but the detection and treatment coverage of the disease is far from enough. In Vietnam, the situation of liver disease is equally severe. Serious diseases such as chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer not only threaten the life and health of patients, but also bring heavy burdens to society and families. Therefore, the prevention and diagnosis of chronic liver disease is crucial.

Liver biopsy is considered the gold standard for liver disease diagnosis. However, as an invasive test method, liver biopsy has certain limitations in terms of test cost, time, and patient risk. Transient elastography (TE) technology recommended by the World Health Organization is fast and non-invasive, and has become a new choice for liver health testing. As a dynamically changing disease, the treatment of chronic liver disease depends largely on the progression of liver fibrosis. As the latest solution for non-invasive liver health testing, Liverscan® can be used as an ideal non-invasive liver test method to monitor the progression of liver disease and help doctors develop more appropriate treatment plans.
Liverscan® enters Vietnam MEDIC MULTI-SPECIALTY CLINIC
On April 17, Liverscan® officially entered Vietnam MEDIC MULTI-SPECIALTY CLINIC, which was founded in 1990 and has an experienced medical team and is equipped with Vietnam’s leading medical equipment and testing systems, and is well-known locally. This installation further proves the technical strength of Liverscan® in the field of liver disease screening and diagnosis, and treatment.

Liverscan® can quickly and accurately measure liver stiffness and acoustic attenuation parameters, significantly improving the early detection rate of liver disease. The probe design is suitable for people of different body types, reducing maintenance costs and helping to make liver screening more efficient and more popular. The introduction of Liverscan® has been widely recognized by Vietnamese medical professionals, providing local people with more opportunities for liver testing and diagnosis, to detect liver disease earlier and predict the progression of the disease, and to strengthen liver disease prevention and treatment.
Dr. Phan Thanh Hải is a famous oncology and medical imaging expert in Vietnam. He graduated from Saigon Medical University in 1974 with a doctorate in medicine and went to France and Germany for further studies, specializing in oncology and diagnostic imaging.
In 1990, Dr. Phan Thanh Hải founded MEDIC HÒA HẢO in Ho Chi Minh City and took the lead in introducing Vietnam’s first batch of CT/MRI equipment in 1995. Subsequently, branches were established in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Kien Giang, and other places, and the medical model was promoted to Laos and Cambodia, gradually building a medical network covering multiple countries. In 2015, MEDIC HÒA HẢO was officially renamed MEDIC MULTI-SPECIALTY CLINIC.
Liverscan® debuts at the 9th Vietnamese Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Conference (VGEC 2025)
On April 18-19, 2025, Liverscan® debuted at the 9th Vietnamese Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Conference (VGEC 2025), organized by the Vietnam Digestive Endoscopy Association(VFDE). At the exhibition, the team exchanged and discussed with local and global industry leaders to explore the future trends in liver disease diagnosis and treatment.

As a fast, non-invasive, and accurate liver detection solution, Liverscan® can enable more asymptomatic people to understand their liver health status in a timely manner, so as to achieve early detection and early treatment. Liverscan® is equipped with the world’s exclusive patented technology – technology for real-time B-mode ultrasound-guided transient elastography, which can accurately locate the position of the liver; there is no need to change the probe during the detection process, which greatly reduces the measurement time. It is the preferred intelligent liver health diagnosis solution for healthcare providers. Through personal experience, the audience and customers at the scene praised the detection performance of Liverscan®.
Liverscan® debuts at GASTROHEP-UMC
